Did you hear the news about Fintel Library getting a new first floor? It’s true! We have been busily moving the reference books, periodicals, and DVDs downstairs to the ground floor, and the computers to the second floor, so we can make way for construction crews. The first floor will be experiencing a renovation that is greatly needed. New carpet! New paint! New furniture! Take a look at some of the drawings we have on display in the front foyer:
CUPs coffee shop will get a makeover, too, but not until later in the Fall semester. Good things definitely come to those that wait.
The library’s main floor currently looks pretty empty, and beginning July 21 work crews will be coming in and ripping things apart, and the Library will be closing to the public beginning July 28 to August 15. Students, staff and faculty will still have access to the building, but they must use their Roanoke IDs to get in.
And Library staff will still be here, though you may want to email us or call before you come in.
It won’t look like this for long, so be sure to check in with us to see the progress.
